Friends,
Please accept my apologies for the lack of postings. I've been pre-occupied
with trying to salvage my desperate financial situation. Back in May I posted
that I was running out of funds... as a result of that, I did get a very small
software contract, but not enough to make any real difference.
Again, permit me to appeal to anyone who could help out financially or who has
any leads to consulting work. I've got a strong background in software, most
recently doing interactive websites in Perl/CGI/SQL.

I've now got the point where I'm totally out of money. It seems the only option
is to leave Ireland, return to California (Palo Alto) and look for a full-time
job. Even that option depends on being able to find a friend who can put me up
for a few months until I get back on my feet. And leaving Ireland is a real
heart-breaker. It means leaving the place I've been happiest and also leaving
Monica, the love of my life. Nonetheless, any leads to job possibilities in the
Bay Area would be much appreciated. I'd be looking for roles as individual
contributor or team lead.
Needless to say, I wish I didn't have to send out this kind of appeal!
