dialog + new website

2007-08-19

Richard Moore

Friends,

I'm developing a new website, "How We the People can change the world"...
     http://governourselves.blogspot.com/

What I want to do here is tie together lots of things that are
already on the web, including but not limited to my own material. As
the site grows, I'll be linking to articles, books, blogs, websites,
and video clips that expand on the story being presented. I've
already got several websites and blogs, and I'm aiming for this one
to be my 'main portal'.

This is not a departure from my documentary projects. One of the
reasons for the new blog is to have a platform from which I can link
to the documentary material as it comes online. As usual with my /
our projects, your feedback is invaluable and will be most welcome.

on to our dialog...

Richard-
Sorry to miss you! Enjoy Kauai!
Aloha- D

Aloha David,

Sorry I won't be in Boston this trip. I'm hoping for Kauai to be a
real holiday, and to keep the computer shut down most of the time.
That'll be tough to do however, as we seem to be in the midst of a
long-predicted economic collapse, and are approaching ever closer to
a nuclear attack on Iran.

stop the world, I want to get off!

[Tongue-in-cheek] When one exposes oneself thusly ...
I was surprised to see the Michael Moore costume, baseball cap,
stubbly protobeard, dowdy clothes (to hide some overweight?), and
then I realized you have the same last name! Relatives? Brand
recognition? Must be.
I noticed you sometimes mumbled, quite unMoorelike. Need better
elocution before hitting prime time, but what is said remains clear,
concise. I personally favour the print medium, where image
considerations do not interfere with (or augment) message delivery.
But a good debut. Just remember that in television your makeup artist
is as important as your scriptwriter; maybe more so, eh?

Cheers,
dc

Hi David,

I guess there's two schools of thought in this regard. One of them
has to do with integrity -- your image should project who you 'really
are'. The other has to do with effectiveness -- project an image that
will impress your audience. If I was going to be on TV, I suppose I'd
choose some middle ground. This particular talk, however, was for a
college class, and I wanted it to be as informal as possible.
Sorry about the mumbling, but I want to learn to speak without
notes or scripts. It's still early days. And if you could see the
drafts I never publish, you wouldn't be so sure that mumbling is
'unMoorelike'. ;-)

thanks for the feedback

Dear Richard:

I live six months in Lansing, Michigan and six months in Mumbai.
Will love to meet with you but cannot in the US. Can we meet in UK
or Ireland in 2nd week of October.
You may recall our correspondence with reference to The New
Global Freedom Movement and a play I sent to you, INDIA OF MY DREAMS.

-------

Hi Shrikumar,

I don't think I ever received 'India of my Dreams'. I'd be interested
in that and anything you have on the Global Freedom Movement. And as
we've discussed, I hope it works out to be able to visit you in India.

into arranging an extensive visit to India.

HOW WONDERFUL SHOULD IT HAPPEN. GOOD FOR YOU.

Hi Jim,

Yes, it would be quite an adventure. A mysterious sub-continent,
pivotal geopolitically, plus a challenging itinerary.

cheers,
