Maybe 8 years ago, _The Nation_ had a special issue on the U.N. It
really made me realize that the UN has great possibilities. I think I
still have the issue someplace.

Is it possible for the U.N. to reinvent itself? It is dependent on the U.S.
which doesn't pay it's bills, yet continue to exercise control. This
country controls the votes of other countries who are dependent upon
loans from us, and this prevents a vote of conscience by them. Also,
it's time for a handful of white countries to hold the votes in the security
coumnmcil which affects the whole world, and the whole world is shut out.
The U.N. should be neutral, should work for peace through dialogue, and
by doing so, short-change the arms merchants who are enslaving the world
and making murderers of all of us.
